AWFS 2019 Recap

Once again, we believe AWFS 2019 validated the industry’s perception that we are a recognized leader, as well as a solid, experienced and reliable partner in helping our customers integrate, connect and digitize their operations.

Charlotte, NC, July 21, 2019 – The 50th Anniversary of Biesse provided even more reason to celebrate during AWFS 2019, held July 17-20 in Las Vegas, NV. With over 16,000 square feet of exhibit space centrally located in the Las Vegas Convention Center, Biesse welcomed manufacturers eager to experience the new technology on display.

Biesse spotlighted leading-edge products, giving visitors opportunities to imagine new possibilities and new ideas to increase productivity. A major highlight was winning the Visionary Award in the Industry 4.0 category with the WN6 ROS (Robotically Operated System)! The ROS from Biesse was on display replacing the human operator of the Selco WN 6 Panel Saw, providing unprecedented efficiency for years to come.

Biesse also had the opportunity to globally launch another industry first at AWFS with the NEW Viet Watch!  Thanks to advances in speech recognition, the Viet Watch wireless control system now gives sanding machine operators instant status updates, command capabilities and much more!

The award winning IoT Platform for Biesse, SOPHIA, took center stage in the Digital Hub section of the Biesse stand. SOPHIA and all of its services were on display providing a clear look into the future of the Factory 4.0 evolution. E-Parts, Work Cell simulation, efficiency monitoring, remote trouble-shooting, optimization, and advanced programming software were all displayed and demonstrated during the 4 days of AWFS.

Attendees also crowded around for demonstrations of our FPS (Feedback Positioning System) and saw firsthand how this new and improved pod and rail positioning system designed for Biesse CNC machining centers automatically positions pods and rails much faster via a series of new and exclusive features.

The RAY FORCE System from Biesse demonstrated how Zero Glue Line technology is applied to CNC Contour Edgebanding, Utilizing near-infrared rays (NIR) to activate the functional layer of the edgebanding, and applying this to curved or shaped components.

Biesse hosted over 250 of our customers during an evening reception at the Venice-inspired Caneletto Ristorante Veneto to honor 50 years of decisions, partnerships and investments in research since the company was founded in 1969.

“It was a great show,” said Federico Broccoli, Biesse America and Biesse Canada President/CEO. “Once again, we believe AWFS 2019 validated the industry’s perception that we are a recognized leader, as well as a solid, experienced and reliable partner in helping our customers integrate, connect and digitize their operations. We provided even more proof that Industry 4.0 and the future of woodworking is already here.”

As Randy Jamison, Executive VP of Sales and Marketing for Biesse America said, “The revolutionary and award-winning technology Biesse demonstrated at the AWFS Fair shows our desire to bring our customers the tools they need to truly enter digital manufacturing. Our commitment to help customers create more efficient and smart factories translates into a future filled with better places to work.”
