Unlike 3- or 4-axis designs that have a limited range, a 5-axis design gives you a tool that can work in any direction. 4-axis designs can work with aggregates, but they rely on a gearbox with a mechanical structure that is subject to wear over time. A 5-axis machine’s direct-drive design eliminates wear and reduces the need of changing tool as the same tool can work in many directions.
