Think4ward! Innovation, creativity and Biesse technology at Ligna 2015
The 2015 edition of Ligna, the most important exhibition in the wood processing sector, is about to open its doors to the public in Hannover (Germany). Biesse will participate with a stand spanning over 3,700 m2, where it will showcase large-scale systems for the management of integrated industrial production and innovative automation systems.
”Biesse Group has put itself at the service of the 4th Industrial Revolution in a very concrete way, through the development of high-performance solutions that can create “digital” 4.0 factories” states Raphaël Prati, Marketing and Communications Director of Biesse Group. ”We are key players of the 4th industrial revolution in the processing machine sector thanks to the large-scale integrated systems that we supply to the major furniture manufacturers in the world and to our automated systems for SMEs in the wood processing sector”.
The stand’s highlights include the Batch-One process, which supports the sequential processing of different panels - depending on production needs - with zero set-up time and maximum production optimisation.
In the bLab laboratory, software innovation meets artistic genius, creating products with high design content, such as the Programmable Table, developed thanks to the exclusive collaboration between Woodskin and MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology): an example of innovative, self-assembling furniture. This prototype, showcased at Milan’s FuoriSalone in co-operation with Biesse, was created using an Excel processing centre.
Lago, an innovative Italian design brand, exhibits the 36e8 bookcase and the Air Wildwood Table, two examples of creativity and a modern interpretation of the interior design language.
Maton Guitars, a global leader in guitar manufacturing, has chosen Biesse to achieve maximum creative freedom in the production of its instruments and showcases its W.A.May custom guitar, developed as a tribute to its founder, Bill May, in the bLab.
FIAM Italia, a company that designs, develops and manufactures curved glass furniture employing artisanal and industrial processes at the same time and merging tradition and innovation, manual processing and design. One of the best results of this “fusion” is the historical Ghost chair, shown in the stand’s concept space.
All this is possible thanks to bSuite, which seals the marriage of machine and creative genius thanks to a co-ordinated set of advanced software tools that enables anyone to access the most cutting-edge technologies. The six modules, all seamlessly integrated with each other, were developed to meet any manufacturing requirement, from designing through to planning, simulation, execution and site management up to data analysis.
All this can be summarized in one word: Think4ward – a concept that enshrines the soul of Biesse Group: innovation, technology, future.
