Technology on offer includes CNC work centres for processing CLT panels, glulam beams, windows and doors, as well as various other wood processing technology. All machinery is made in a modular way, enabling our customers to specify the exact machine for their factory with bed lengths of up to 40 metres.
Until just a few years ago, wood houses were generally seen as lightweight, temporary structures, vulnerable to mould, fire and the elements. Today, however, largely courtesy of the advent of cross-laminated timber types (KLH, BSP, CLT, X-LAM, Cross-Lam), we are seeing a real shift in attitudes towards this environmentally-friendly, safe construction material, which can also deliver remarkable energy savings. Despite the crisis that has blighted the construction sector for the last six years, wood construction has bucked the largely negative trend, demonstrating consistent levels of growth. Multi-storey houses and buildings in X-Lam - made from thin sheets of spruce that are layered and then fixed together using a formaldehyde-free glue at high pressure, creating large panels for construction - are becoming increasingly popular, and represent a valid alternative to structures built with more traditional materials. In addition, these buildings offer an extremely competitive solution, due to the fact that they are characterised by a whole host of advantages that satisfy the demands of today's market. Wood offers durability over time, design freedom, superb mechanical characteristics such as elasticity, low specific weight, high tensile strength, excellent resistance to compression and flection, superior thermo-acoustic properties and is easy to machine. In addition, wooden houses do not have a negative impact on the environment or on the health of those who live in them, largely due to the fact that timber is the only building material that breathes. Wooden houses do not suffer from thermal bridges or condensation, courtesy of the high vapour permeability of this material. Other advantages derive from the ability of wood to ensure seismic safety and resistance to fire, as well as the fact that this material offers superb value for money and is quick to construct.
