England V Italy – A prelude to the World Cup?
Huge crowds turned out last Wednesday evening to watch a 6-a-side match between Biesse UK’s Italian contingent and what can only be classed as a crack England (aka Rest of the World) Team.
If you look closely, you can see the crowd in the background!
Ok, so that’s how The Telegraph’s sports section may well have written up the piece, so who are we to be different?
Ok, so it wasn’t a pedigree Italian team either, as one important member who should have played in goal, had to accompany a customer to our factory in Italy, which of course, is far more important! So a Welshman promptly stepped up to ‘fill the gap’. Therefore, it should really be classified as a ‘Predominantly Italian Team’.
The pedigree of the Rest of the World team couldn’t be questioned, as they had players from as far away as Bradford and indeed Hull. This was further enhanced by the fact that the only ‘local lad’ who played was recently imported from Gillingham.
The result? Well, if you’re a believer in ‘what goes around comes around’ (and there were a couple of ‘hand of God’ moments) then the fact that the Predominantly Italian Team won 5 – 2 should be a good omen for an England win on 14th June.
Anyway, check out the photo’s below, we’re sure you’ll agree that we have well-honed and athletic people at Biesse UK…….at least they all lasted the full 60 minutes of actual play!
Team Biesse – watch out World!
